In Fuerteventura the weather is usually dry, sunny and windy. The average annual temperature is 21 degrees, which varies slightly during the seasons.

Rainfall is low throughout the year. However, dry sand storms, known as Calima occur frequently.

The north-northwest wind keeps the island cool and fresh, and protects it from the dryness climate from the close Sahara Coasts. In addition, this wind attracts many surfers, windsurfers and kite-surfing lovers.
